Personal Artist Statement

Fashion enhances the natural beauty of a person and helps express how we feel on the inside. This is what I do as a photographer. The photographs I create are an enhanced version of my reality.  They are the world as I imagine it, through vibrant color, unique pattern and enhanced light. Fashion and beauty conveys a lifestyle that excites me and sparks my creative vision everyday. With a background in graphic design, I incorporate the graphic elements I see in fabric patterns and textures into the overall look of my photographs. I utilize these elements along with imaginative lighting techniques to enhance every image, creating my overall style.

Photography is more than snapping a picture with a camera. Working out the details such as location, wardrobe, lighting, and postproduction techniques during the planning process is an essential part of how I work. These details expand upon my concepts, which create layers of symbolism within many of my photographs. By combining my love for fashion and beauty with the knowledge of design and the image making process defines my work as a professional photographer.
